What to expect

Before your appointment

Prior to your appointment, you will electronically submit questionnaires to Dr. Link so we can get the paperwork out of the way and spend the appointment getting to know you, your preferences, and educating you on your hearing loss and the best treatment options for your needs.

During your appointment

  • Share your past experiences (good & bad) with hearing aids so we can learn together from those experiences
  • Consider implications of neuropathy, arthritis, vision loss, or cognitive decline on hearing aid selection and develop strategies to mitigate these challenges
  • Review Hearing Evaluation results & tailor recommendations based on these findings to your needs
  • Review assistive listening devices available that may make your hearing easier:
  • Bluetooth connectivity to your phone
  • Bluetooth connectivity to your TV
  • Companion Microphones

At the end of your appointment, Dr. Link will educate on the best hearing aid treatment options for your needs. We are big believers in education and shared decision making so you will never feel pressured into treatment that isn’t the right fit for you. We’ll help you understand the options best for you so you can decide what works best for you.

If your informed decision is to move forward with treatment, an impression of the ear is often taken to ensure proper fit and sound quality. Your hearing aids are custom ordered for you from the hearing aid manufacturer. Depending on the hearing aid you selected, the hearing aid fitting will be held approximately 2 days to 2 weeks following ordering.
